My Fosters Page 3
Aramis & Amaris
Aramis (male, orange tiger) and Amaris (female, brown tiger) are long haired kitten siblings. Maybe 4-5 weeks old. They were little strays that someone found - very sweet babies. Aramis, sadly passed away in another foster home at age 3 months after he contracted an upper respiratory infection. His sister, Amaris, fought it and got better but little Aramis did not have the strength. He was an especially sweet kitten.
Click above to see Promise's page and also her puppies' page. Promise was the first pregnant rescue I ever had that I allowed to give birth. It was a very tiring, yet rewarding experience. Promise and her puppies have all been adopted.
Murphy and Maverick - I drove from Ohio to Georgia to save these two boys and along the way passed some cities which I named the next set of foster kittens (listed below) after. Long drive, but worth saving these two sweet dogs!
Murphy
Murphy is a Sheltie/Corgi mix from the Spalding County Animal Shelter in Georgia on August 19, 2005. He gets along very well with other dogs and I think he should have doggie friends in his new home. Adopted September 2005!
Maverick
Maverick is a Keeshond mix from the Spalding County Animal Shelter in Georgia on August 19, 2005. He gets along very well with other dogs and I think he should have doggie friends in his new home. Adopted September 2005!
Griffin, Dalton & Calhoun
All 3 boys are medium to long haired kittens. When I took them home Dalton (black kitten) was about 4 weeks old, Calhoun (brown tiger kitten) was about 5 weeks old and Griffin (black & white kitten) was about 6 weeks old. Calhoun and Dalton were the only survivors from each of their litters, Griffin was a lone stray. They have all gotten along very well and even though not related they love each other like brothers. They were all very sick with an upper respiratory infection when I first brought them home in August 2005, but within a few weeks they all got better and are now lively and spunky kittens!

Shimmering Spirit the Roaming Gnome of Shambala - "Shimmer"
She was found under a car at the University of Dayton - she's a medium hair black/white baby about 3-4 weeks old. I figured a kitten with as big a personality as she has needed a big name so her "full" name is Shimmering Spirit the Roaming Gnome of Shambala. I just call her Shimmer though. She has a spitfire type personality (not afraid to hiss and swat at my big dogs!) so that's the Shimmering Spirit part. The Roaming Gnome came because she does love to roam around and she was roaming around UD. The Shambala part came because on the way home she was in the backseat screaming so I put on a CD which happened to have the song "Shambala" on it and she was quiet when I sang it to her!
Meeko and Donte
Meeko is the short haired boy and Donte is the medium haired boy. Donte is very sweet and mellow (my kind of guy!) and Meeko is the little wildchild! They were sprung from the Preble Co Humane Society where they had been growing up.
Josie
Josie is a 6 month old female Sheltie/Shepherd mix. She spent most of her puppyhood in the Preble Co Humane Society, but I spotted her online and wanted to give her a better chance of finding a home before she was done being a puppy. Adopted 10/1/2006
Ranger
Ranger is a 7 month old neutered male Corgi, maybe Shepherd mix. He is a great boy who just loves to play around. He's such a friendly and outgoing type of dog. He was sent to a shelter to be euthanized by his owner because he was still a mouthy puppy at 7 mos of age. This is NOT a solution to puppy mouthing! A friend of mine heard about this and took him from the owner. She then sent him to me to foster and try to find a loving home for him. His mouthing partly comes from his herding breed heritage and was just natural for him to do. For doing what came naturally he very nearly was killed. Ranger was adopted October 6, 2006.
Kelsie
She's about 3 yrs old and is small at about 25 pounds. Not much is known of her history, she came from a dog auction where puppy millers sell dogs - but she was already spayed. She was not used for breeding, she was someone's pet I believe. She's been through alot in just a couple of days, but is very quiet, housetrained and she likes being in her crate for security. Adopted October 2006.
Ava
An 18 month old purebred GSD from West German Showlines who happened to have EPI. A beautiful girl in looks and temperament!
